Day 16 - Watercolours

Watercolours are one of my favourite painting mediums.  These days there are so many different techniques and methods of application that most of us can find something we enjoy using.
I love to colour with distress markers, which allow me to control exactly where I place the colour.  I've included a little step-by-step picture guide below.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using your favorite watercolour technique.

So beautiful, Beccy! Your colouring and shading really brought this to life. I used to do watercolour all the time when I first started crafting but now I only do it occasionally. I haven't been able to watercolour with digis due to my printer, and I seem to use mostly digis these days. Your card is very elegant looking with the metallic paper! At the end of this month, I think you will have completed all of your Christmas cards, well 30 of them at least!

Gorgeous card, Beccy. Love the monochromatic colours.

I've used Distress Inks for watercolouring but never thought to use the Markers! Will have to give this a try as I can see it will be easier than the inks.

I'm more of a fingerpaints kind of gal, but I'll give it a go.

A great way to encourage people like me to get those distress markers out of the drawer before they completely dry up and give this a go....put away the copic markers and try something more traditional. Thanks for the incentive again...happy Monday/xx

I just wonder if you start to guess what I want to try and learn!
I looked for some tutorials for watercolor technique and I was astonished about how many ways of playing with colours they are! It's like a life time job!
Thank you for your tutorial: beautiful creation!

I love seeing this step by step process. I don;t have very many distress markers but I do have distress inks that I often use to water color with. I really had hopes of doing every project but life just seems to get in the way. Beautiful card. Lovely soft colors. You are amazing!

Holy tomoly! I just now realized I CAN run off digis on one of our computers to use with watercolors! How neat will that be if it works like I am hoping! I really like water colors and your card looks great how you did it. I've not used distress inks or markers, so this will be something to look into. Hope it works!

It's great fun Conny... definitely worth having a little play. Just buy some inexpensive water colour paper and kids watercolour paints to start with. If you don't like it, you won't have wasted lots of money on art supplies.
Cheers,
Beccy
